Consultation and investment opportunities

ETSA Utilities follows public consultation processes mandated by the Essential Services Commission of South Australia (ESCOSA) and the Australian Energy Regulator (AER).

These processes include:

  • The creation and maintenance of a public Register of interested parties
  • The publication of an annual Electricity System Development Plan (ESDP)
  • The publication of an annual Demand Management Compliance Report
  • The evaluation of projects above a value of $2 million to assess whether or not they have a potential for a Demand Management solution (Reasonableness Tests)
  • The issuance of Request for Proposals (RFP) for projects that have been identified above as having potential for a Demand Management Solution
  • Specific demand management programs
  • The publication of guidelines to the installation of embedded generation

The Register of interested parties is a public list of people and organisations who have registered to be advised of the publication of new documents under the above process.

We publish two annual network reports, the ESDP and Demand Management (DM) Compliance Report. The ESDP contains information on our network and on areas requiring investment within the next three years. The DM Compliance Report describes specific demand management programs and reports on our activities over the last financial year including any RFP’s and Reasonableness tests that have been issued. These reports may be found on the Annual network plans page.

Further information on demand management and various initiatives we are investigating may be found at the Demand management page. Information on the installation of embedded generators can be found here.
