Description

To design and install 26 km of 66kV overhead line between Yankalilla and Cape Jervis.

This project involved the installation of 109 x 23 metre poles between Yankalilla and Cape Jervis. Approximately 100km of 66kV conductor was also installed. The phase conductor used was 19/4.75AAAC/1120 'Oxygen' and the earth conductor was 6/1/2.75ACSR/GZ 'Apricot'.

As the line route crossed many gullies and pole locations were difficult to access, a helicopter was used to install the earth conductor and a draw wire for the phase conductor prior to the stringing equipment being utilised.
